Thank you for being here.
I started writing these reflections because youth sports has become a surprisingly complicated part of modern parenting. What once felt simple, kids playing games with friends, now often carries expectations, pressure, and difficult choices for families.
This space is where I think out loud about those moments.
The car rides home after a game. The decisions parents make about leagues and teams. The quiet tension between wanting to give kids opportunities and wanting to protect their childhood.
I write about sports, but really I am writing about something bigger. Identity. Belonging. Pressure. And the small moments that shape how our kids experience competition.
Many of these reflections come from my own experiences as a parent. Others come from moments I notice sitting in gyms or on the sidelines, the parts of youth sports that don’t always get talked about.
If you have ever sat in the stands wondering whether we have made something simple more complicated than it needs to be, you are not alone.
I share one reflection each week.
Thanks for reading.

Just stumbled across your page and read a few of your most recent articles. Loved them so I've scrolled to the start to read them all. Thank you. I think we think very similarly but you are way better at getting it down.
